SPRINGPORT TOWNSHIP
SPECIAL MEETING
April 17, 2006

The Special Meeting of the Springport Township Board was called to order at 9:15 am at the Springport Township Hall. Members present were Rybicki, Betz and Wilson. Absent were Mitchell and Travioli. Jeff Bell from Homestead Bank was also present.

Jeff Bell presented the Board with an Office Lease. Discussion followed and some changes were made.
Resolution 10-06, Rent portion of Police Building to Homestead Bank, offered by Board Member Rybicki. Rybicki offered to rent portion of Police Building to Homestead Bank subject to approval from White and Hotchkiss. Supported by Betz.

Roll Call: Aye-Betz, Rybicki and Wilson
Absent: Travioli and Mitchell
Resolution adopted.
Jeff Bell left at 9:45 am.

Discussion followed to see if JoAnn would clean the Police portion of the Building and what it will cost. Wilson will talk with JoAnn and have her submit a bid if she is interested.

Chief Speese arrived at 10:00 am with John Whitehurst. Chief Speese did a background check on John. There were problems with driving about 6 years ago. Chief would like to recommend the hiring of John Whitehurst. Motion by Rybicki to hire John Whitehurst with a 6-month probation period on the Chief’s recommendation. Supported by Wilson. Motion carried.

Moved by Rybicki to adjourn the meeting. Supported by Wilson. Meeting adjourned at 10:10 am.
