| Springport Area Growth Association The meeting was called to order by Lisa Mitchell at 7:08 pm. Members present included Megan Merrill (Easton Merrill), Bill Russell, Jackie Merritt, and Jeff Mitchell. Motion to accept the agenda by Bill Russell, seconded by Megan Merrill. Motion carried. Activity in the Treasurer’s account from November consisted of interest accrued on the account and $417.00 spent on wreaths and lights. The balance as of 1/19/2011 is $980.21. Motion to receive the Treasurer’s Report per audit, seconded, and carried. Under the Events committee it was discussed that it is time to start thinking about 2011 8-80 Days plans, starting with the theme. Suggestions can be emailed to a SAGA member. If there are people interested in organizing an event during 8-80 Days, please also contact a SAGA member. The Fundraising committee a VFW breakfast was discussed and SAGA is on the list for one of the breakfast fundraisers. It was also discussed to do more advertising and possibly a raffle or something to increase profits. A calendar fundraiser was also discussed. Jackie did research of a couple of online companies that organize and print calendars. It was discussed to have a photo contest for the calendar, which will be put together by Jackie. People can submit their photos to Jackie via email (merrittja@myjdl.com). Photos are to be at least 1600 x 1200 and no people in the photos. Under Townships it was discussed that the Jackson Ag Council's Farmfest for 2011 has been set for September 17th and will be at the Puddingstone Farms, Hearthstone Farm Market, Sears Farm, and Sweet Seasons Orchard. Under New Business, it was moved, seconded, and passed to unanimously elect all current officers to their positions for the 2011 year. A neighborhood watch meeting is schedule for Feb. 2nd, Park Committee meeting is scheduled for Monday February 21st. Both meetings will be at the Township Hall at 7:00 pm.
