Springport Area Growth Association
August Fund Raising Meeting Minutes

Our fund raising committee is proud to announce that our first annual SAGA Golf Outing brought in $545. Everyone had a good time and is looking forward to next year’s outing. We would like to thank Denny Pombier and Jeremy Adams for getting the prizes. Helpers for the day were Tim Griffith, Denny and Teresa Pombier, and Bob Brace.
We really want to thank all the local businesses that donated prizes for the outing. We received prizes from businesses in Springport, Albion, Eaton Rapids and Jackson. Having nice prizes really draws in the players, and we were fortunate to have businesses that understood the importance of donating to SAGA. They understood our streetscape project and wanted to help.

The Mary Kay event that was held July 13th brought in $50. The next event is Wednesday, August 17 at 6:00 at Country Town Golf Course. Another one is planned for September 14th. We want to thank Heather Nichols and Debra Sebastian for their generous offer to help SAGA by donating 25% of the proceeds to SAGA.

A database of businesses has been created. This will assist us in our fund raising activities. Also a thank you letter/receipt has been created.

We are in the process of evaluating if we will participate with a craft table in the upcoming Home to Home Craft Show.

A reminder was given of the September 14th MSU Extension meeting. This is a very important meeting and we need a good turnout.

A can drive has begun with members bringing in their cans to the next SAGA meeting, August 17.
