Ordinance 21-National Electric Code

An Ordinance to designate an enforcing agency to discharge the responsibilities of the Township of Springport under the provisions of the State Construction Code Act, (Act 230, 1972). The Township of Springport ordains: Section 1: Agency Designated. Pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 8 of Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, the Electrical Official of the Township of Springport is hereby designated as the enforcing agency to discharge the responsibilities of the Township of Springport under Act 230, 1972, State of Michigan. Section 2: All Ordinances inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3: This Ordinance shall be effective after legal publication and in accordance with provisions of the Act governing same. Section 4: Any violation of this Ordinance or the National Electrical Code or any part thereof shall be punished by imprisonment in the County jail for not more than ninety (90) days or by fine of not more than Five Hundred ($500.00) dollars, or by both fine and imprisonment. Section 5: This Ordinance shall take effect and be enforced from and after the earliest date allowed by law. Adopted: May 8, 1995 Effective: June 7, 1995
